K'uychi Rumi in Peru
Meaning “The Rainbow Stone” in the Quechua language, K’uychi Rumi is a unique and luxurious option for lodging when staying in the Urubamba/Sacred Valley region of the country. Consisting of six Andean-style houses surrounded by sumptuous gardens and orchards, the resort is nestled in this historically- and archaeologically-rich area, surrounded by the majestic peaks of the mountains. K’uychi Rumi is also quite close to the train station that takes visitors to Machu Picchu, making it the ideal location for those planning on exploring the most amazing of Inca sites.
Each one of the two-story Andean homes on the property has been furnished with pieces indicative of the style of the area, making good use of local materials and employing local artisans for the task of designing the accommodations. These unique vacation homes each include 2 separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms as well as a living room with fireplace, dining room, a kitchenette, a terrace, and a balcony. K’uychi Rumi is located at a lower elevation than Cusco and is touted as a good place to stay in order to become gradually acclimated to the high elevation. It is also much more modern and also more luxurious than many of the accommodations in Cusco, making it a good choice for travelers who seek the best.

In addition, the staff cooks a delicious buffet breakfast, which can be included with the stay for a small price.
There are no additional amenities offered at this facility, so those seeking amenities similar to those of a hotel – including a swimming pool and fitness facilities – may decide that this isn’t the right lodging choice for them. However, there are plenty of off-site activities available for visitors to enjoy including hiking, mountain biking, and rafting – all within close proximity of K’uychi Rumi. Though children are welcome, these accommodations tend to be better suited to adults.
