The owners of the Green House, who live on the property and are from Argentina and England, chose to build the two-story structure from all natural materials that are indicative of the area in which it stands, including adobe, wood, stone, and mud, making it much more environmentally-friendly than many other accommodations in Peru. Solar water panels are also part of the picture and the building was designed so that it made the best use of the natural light that shines most days during peak tourist season.
When the owners designed the lodge, they also kept in mind the idea of a sanctuary, so they limited the establishment to just a few rooms and a common room, allowing for plenty of peace and quiet for those who were seeking a getaway in this beautiful portion of the country. Hence, there are just four rooms at The Green House Bed and Breakfast, accommodating only 10 guests at any given time, achieving what the owners hoped would be a “home away from home” kind of feeling for their visitors. The rooms are all decorated in warm Andean colors and include lovely furnishings and photographic art. The master room offers 4 beds and the other rooms include either a single or double bed. Each has their own bathroom that includes a hot “power shower.”

Internet service is available at this bed and breakfast as is laundry service and free tourist information and helpful hints about exploring the region. Guests may take advantage of the meals served at The Green House, all of which include the facility’s home-grown organic vegetables. Free tea and herbal drinks are also offered throughout the day. Local pottery and alpaca goods are available for sale as well.
The owners of the hotel will also help guests organize activities to enjoy while lodging at their facility. These include horseback riding trips, hiking treks, river rafting, and mountain biking.
Children under the age of 10 are not permitted to lodge
at the Green House Bed and Breakfast in order to obtain a peaceful and
meditative atmosphere at the establishment. Prices are per night and
continental breakfast is included.
