Casa Arequipa in Peru

Located in a colonial mansion in Peru’s second largest city, Casa Arequipa calls itself a “boutique bed and breakfast”, designed to accommodate individuals who seek a tranquil stay in the middle of a busy metropolis.

Casa Arequipa opened in 2003 when a local resident and an American writer joined together to purchase a mid 20th century-built mansion that was originally constructed for a wealthy local family. The new owners attempted to retain the unique architectural aspects of the house while adding the modern amenities that their guests would seek. The hand-crafted wrought iron fixtures remain as do the marble and mahogany floors but features like bathrooms are new and modern.

Upon entering the Casa Arequipa, guests will view the large lobby that the owners designed for relaxation and sipping warm coca tea or cocktails. Flowers and candles are regular fixtures in the lobby area and guests find it an excellent place to sit and chat with old or new friends.
